It's always difficult to get older cats adopted. Kisuke is no exception. She's 15 years old and has been through a lot in her life, which made it more challenging. After thinking she had a forever home, Kisuke found herself seeking out a new one at the beginning of the pandemic. She was adopted and lived with her person for the next four years, but then that person developed medical challenges and couldn't take care of Kisuke anymore.
She came here, and initially was reluctant to interact with anyone, whether staff or visitor. After a while, she started to accept slow and gentle pets on her head. From there, she would get bursts of energy where she was active followed by long periods of sleep.
That was exactly what her adopter was looking for, and now this senior kitty will spend her golden years in a home of her own. We're going to miss her, but we're glad she's going home.
